Vision Robotics Federal Systems, LLC announces that it has signed a contract with The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego. The project comes in response to a Broad Agency Announcement issued in April, 2007, and is planned for three years. The company proposed leveraging its extensive experience with stereo vision hardware and algorithms to develop a Stereo Vision Mapping System that can be deployed on existing and forthcoming military EOD UGVs. |

Vision Robotics kicked off a project with Olin College of Engineering to design a picking hand for the harvesting of fresh apples and oranges. The project is part of the SCOPE (Senior Consulting Program for Engineering). The team has been tasked to conceptualize, design and prototype picking hands that meet specific requirements for apples and oranges. This includes picking without bruising the fruit or breaking the skin as well as issues such as production costs, life cycle and reliability. |
